# Billing

> See your OpenWork plan and how many people it covers, start the Team plan by card, and manage payment details in Settings › Billing.

**Settings › Billing** in OpenWork Cloud shows your organization's plan, how
many people it counts, and what you pay each month. For what each plan
includes, see [Pricing and licensing](https://openworklabs.com/docs/start-here/pricing-and-licensing.md).

## Plans

| Plan | Who it's for | How you get it |
| - | - | - |
| **Free** | Up to 5 people | Every new organization starts here |
| **Team** | Any number of people, \$10 per person a month | Start it on this page, paid by card |
| **Enterprise** | Any number of people, with SCIM, audit logs, analytics, required single sign-on and desktop policies | [Talk to sales](mailto:sales@openworklabs.com). OpenWork invoices it; it isn't bought by card |

## Who counts

Your plan counts **people who joined and invitations still waiting**. The
**Plan** card shows both, for example `6 people (5 joined, 1 invited)`.

On OpenWork Cloud's Free plan, when 5 people are counted, inviting a sixth
asks you to start Team. This applies to every way people join: invitations, single
sign-on, and SCIM.

On Enterprise, the number of people is set in your agreement. If you need more,
ask your OpenWork contact to add them.

## Start the Team plan

1. Open **Settings › Billing**.
2. On the **Plan** card, set **People on Team**. It starts at everyone counted
today, and you can add room for up to 50 more.
3. Check the monthly total shown next to it.
4. Click **Start Team** and pay by card.

Team bills every person counted, including pending invitations.

## Manage or cancel

When you pay for Team by card, click **Manage plan** to open the billing portal.
There you can change payment details, see invoices, and change or cancel the
subscription.

## Add-ons

Add-ons such as AI model access (OpenWork Models) are billed separately from
your plan. They appear under **Your subscriptions**, with an **Expected monthly
total** for everything you pay. See
[Pricing and licensing](https://openworklabs.com/docs/start-here/pricing-and-licensing.md#add-ons).

## Who can do what

| Action | Permission | Who has it by default |
| - | - | - |
| See this page | **View billing** | Owner and admins |
| Start a subscription | **Start a subscription** | Owner and admins |
| Open the billing portal: payment details, invoices, change or cancel | **Open the billing portal** | Owner only |

Starting a subscription and opening the portal ask you to sign in again if you
haven't signed in recently. The owner can give these permissions to others by
editing a role; see [Roles](https://openworklabs.com/docs/cloud/members-and-rbac.md#roles).

## Self-hosted installations

Card payments only work where the installation has Stripe billing set up. If it
doesn't, the page says **The Team plan isn't sold on this deployment.** Your
license terms still apply; see
[Pricing and licensing](https://openworklabs.com/docs/start-here/pricing-and-licensing.md#how-licensing-works).
